Memoirist Betsy Bell presents the story of her family and thirty others who traveled to the USSR at the height of the Cold War to deliver a peace letter to the citizens of Seattle’s Sister City, Tashkent. The response of people in Washington State to the imminent threat of nuclear war in 1982 is as relevant today as it was in the 80s.
